Corralejo,  Fuerteventura

Corralejo is situated at the North end of the island and is probably the most popular holiday town on Fuerteventura as far as the British are concerned, closely followed by Caleta de Fuste.
The town is in two parts, the old town, which is obviously the original resort, is next to the harbour and has a lovely old fashioned feel about it. There is a couple of restaurants by the harbour, and it makes for a pleasurable couple of hours to sit in the sun and to consume the local Tapas and beer, and look out onto the yachts and boats.

Along from the Harbour walls there is a small sandy beach called Playa la Clavellina, which is not known to be a nudist beach.

In fact, none of the beaches actually ajacent to the town centre are known to be nudist beaches; you'll always get the odd individual, but because of the proximity of the town center to the beaches, and of course the risk of causing offence, swim suits are kept on, although being topless is fine.

The newer part of Corralejo looks like any High street in any city, with boutiques and famous names from around the world.

As you walk along the sea front, away to the right of the harbour, there is a mixture of sandy and stony beaches, and some of the empty buildings get more dilapidated. It is clear that there have been a few potential hotels which have not been built past the supporting infrastructure stage, and there are some derelict constructions that show signs of actually having had a previous existence.
When you eventually come to the very end of Corralejo, going roughly south, you have the choice of either taking the road that passes the excellent Oliva Beach hotel on its way to Pueto Del Rosario, or you can wander along the beach.
Here, it is naturist time.  Circular structures made of stone conceal and protect inert nude bodies from the wind and sunshine.
Further along on the beach itself, water sport lovers take full advantage of the surf, and Kites flutter around in the breeze.
More recumbent nudists stretch out  enjoying the elements and as you walk along there is a wonderful sense of calm and freedom.
Eventually you come to the beach side of the Oliva beach hotel, it is cover up time, so as not to cause offence.
100 metres past the hotel, and again nudists abound, some jumping into the waves, others slightly further away from the sea, again encircled by the stone structures or nestled into the dunes.
On these beaches, there are a couple of bars to stop for refreshment, but limited toilet facilities, apart of course from the sea.
In Fuerteventura, there seems to be no designated nudist beaches, people are happy to strip off on any beach except for any areas that are near hotels or holiday centres.
